A spatial, interactive 3D-installation “Christmas around the World” (2005).

The project was to design and produce a spatial, interactive installation suitable for families with children. The installation represents Christmas Foundation’s partners around the world – toy manufacturers, museums and cities.

The client: Christmas Foundation Rovaniemi, Finland.
My tasks: Concept & graphic design, 3D-modeling and texturing.

Users can rotate a 3D globe, and watch short video clips represented as christmas baubles on the globe. To encourage the users to try the installation we concealed all technology. The plasma screen was framed with a thick, gilded baroque frame and a big wooden ball was used as an interface instead of a keyboard and a mouse. The saturated visuals twinkle christmas joy and fantasy.

Below: visualizations of the installation and its elements plus a couple of making-of-photos.
